What makes an artist? Is it the work they create, the ideas they pursue, or the process through which those ideas take shape?
For ' YET TO BE' we selected eleven emerging Sri Lankan women artists whose practices demonstrate curiosity, consistency, and a commitment to exploration. Our selection focused not only on the finished works, but also on the processes behind them sketching, experimenting with materials, developing concepts, revisiting ideas, and allowing their practices to evolve.
Bringing together this artistic voices, this exhibition celebrates not only what has been created, but also what remains possible. Each artist brings a unique approach to materials, ideas, and processes, revealing practices that continue to grow, question, and transform.
Because becoming is not about reaching a final destination. It is about remaining open to change, discovery, and everything that is yet to unfold.
