Mahesh Jayawardana is graduate of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts, Colombo. His practice explores materiality, memory, and human emotion through  sculpture.

Working with copper, metal, and wood, Jayawardana creates sculptural forms  inspired by the movement and stillness of marine life. Through oxidation processes, he develops rich colors and textures across the metal surfaces, allowing the material to echo the changing qualities of the ocean. These evolving surfaces reinforce themes of transformation, time, and emotion.
