Nimna (b 1995, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Currently works and lives in Colombo) is an artist and designer based in Colombo. Her practice is grounded in a multidisciplinary approach that continuously experiments with new mediums to extend the storytelling possibilities of her characters and imagined worlds. Through this evolving language, she reflects on the complexities of contemporary Sri Lankan life, balancing comfort, memory, and subtle dislocation.
Her work has been recognized within emerging illustration and contemporary design contexts for its distinctive narrative structure and its ability to merge emotional storytelling with adaptable visual systems.
Her work spans illustration, fashion, experiential design, and object-based storytelling. She employs a graphic, character focused visual language influenced by domestic environments, vintage aesthetics, everyday objects, and poetic references.
