Rinoshan Susiman (b.1993 , Batticaloa Sri Lanka. Lives and works in Jaffna) is a Sri Lankan interdisciplinary artist working across moving image, sound, instalation, interactive new media and mixed media. His practice explores memory, the body, landscape and the socio political conditions that shape lived experience. Combining both traditional and digital processes, he transforms temporary bodily traces into abstract visual forms, exploring the relationship between personal memory and colective histories. His recent works reinterpret impressions left on textiles as imagined landscapes, reflecting on trauma, displacement and the layered geographies of post-conflict Sri Lanka.
Susiman completed his Master of Art and Design Studies at the School of Visual Art and Design, Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (Art & Design) from the Ramanathan Academy of Fine Arts, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
